COPA is a newly founded cooperative created by merging of Južni Banat and ATOS FRUCTUM, two Serbian companies dealing with the production of apples. It was founded with the desire to offer top-notch Pannonian apples to foreign markets. We at COPA believe synergy is at the core of every successful business.
The idea behind the creation of COPA was to completely standardize the processes of apple production in the Pannonian region, by:
selecting and planting the quality seedlings from own or certified foreign nurseries- applying the same, modern principles and methods of cultivation
- systematize the production processes: sorting (classification),
storing and packing of apples by using state-of-the-art technologies
and machines of the same quality and performance strength

WHERE NATURE GIVES ITS BEST
The Pannonian low hills are a part of the Pannonian Basin, which lies in the southeastern part of Central Europe. It was named Pannonian after Pannonia, a province of the Roman Empire. Romans recognized the unique characteristics of this region- it is rich in water and minerals; thus, the soil is very fertile, dense and ideal for fruit growing. It’s no wonder Romans chose to cultivate grapes and develop winegrowing in this region.
The climate and pedological characteristics of Pannonian Hills are especially suitable for apple production. The orchards of the Pannonian Hills are located at high altitudes, with good daily Sun exposure and clean mountain air, which contribute to specific colors and taste of the apples. The natural, clean waters of this region give the soil necessary nutrition and enable the healthy growth of fruits, while the strong wind energy prevents diseases and protects the quality of apples.
